Love UAG?
If you're one of the lucky people who have deployed DirectAccess with UAG, and you're looking into upgrading to Unified Remote Access, you're in luck, as this book is written by two of the leading experts on UAG DirectAccess.
There are some similarities between the configuration console you used with UAG and the one used for Unified Remote Access, and most of the concepts and technologies you have learned while working with UAG still apply. If you have good understanding of DirectAccess, then following the procedures in this book will be a breeze. Unfortunately, though, there is no direct upgrade path to convert your UAG Servers to become a Unified Remote Access server. You will have to install a new Windows 2012 server, and configure the Unified Remote Access role from scratch, though you will be able to copy many of the settings directly. The best news, though, is that since deployment of Unified Remote Access can be a lot simpler, it should come as quite an easy task, especially if you are one of the poor souls who had to burn hours on the phone with one of us to get UAG DirectAccess to work in the first place. It also allows a parallel install of a Windows Server 2012 based deployment and moves users to the new deployment gradually from UAG.
