IoTDM is an open source implementation of oneM2M running on OpenDaylight. OneM2M is a global organization that creates the requirements, architectures, and interoperability function of IoT technologies.

This module is a middleware that acts as a oneM2M-compliant IoT data broker, and it enables authorized applications to retrieve IoT data uploaded to the network by small IoT devices.

The IoTDM application (plugin) interacts with data producers (IoT devices such as sensors and IoT management systems) and data consumers (analytics engines). The interaction happens through a variety of IoT protocol plugins, such as CoAP, MQTT, HTTP, and so on:
