Abstract
Ecological civilization has become the hot topic in the 21th century.The thesis topic comes from the anxiety of the increasingly serious ecological crisis at present.Under the background of globalization, the ecological literary criticism should adhere to the multi-cultural perspective and mind, settling the ecological literature under the prism of social culture to survey the interactive and restrictive relations between ecological literature and other social cultural factors from region, belief, culture, economy and technology, from which the complex problems produced by ecological crisis can be solved culturally and comprehensively.The essay, subject to this methodology, interprets the novel creation of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period, defines the various symptoms of ecological crisis from nature, culture and spirit based on tracing to the multi-sources of ecological writing and examines the reasons from multi-perspectives and all-round directions in order to act appropriately to the situation and find out the applicable method for ecological salvation.The essay comprises six parts, including the introduction, four subject chapters and the conclusion.
The introduction presents the study content, methodology and significance.
Chapter one discusses the origin of the novel creation of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.The minority has unique ecological resources.The lush grassland and thick forest that appeared in the ancient Inner Mongolia cultivate the ecological culture for the minority in that area.The ecological resource included in the minority folk literature provides sufficient creation materials and unique national customs for writes.The belief of nature wor ship in the minority inspires writers' ecological awareness and paints a mysterious brilliance on their ecological writing.Therefore, the unique natural environment and regional condition, the lush folk literature and the similar religious cultural convention among northern minorities comprehensively contribute to the rich ecological feature in novel creation of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.
Chapter two discusses the anxiety of ecological writing of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.Those writers have a strong sense of crisis towards natural ecology.Facing the dying nature under the circumstance of the damage by modern industrialization, they, with their inherent ecological responsibility, regard their pens as swords coincidently to criticize and warn people's random activities and actions through the description of serious ecological crisis in nature; the source of ecological crisis is our cultural system itself.In the presence of the recession of national cultural convention under the fierce attack by modern civilization, the minority writers in Inner Mongolia express strong pathetic awareness of culture extinction through the ecological writing; besides, they focus and explicitly explore the dilemma in the mental world of people from the grassland when create the story about their emotions“in the city”“out of city”and“into the city”.Faced with the various serious situations of nature degradation, culture recession, and spiritual problem coming with modern development, writers spare their efforts to record this situation, query and reflect the modernization background behind the crisis and discuss the way to express their thoughts and solutions towards the complex relationship between“modernization and nationality”by selecting and building national cultural identity.
Chapter three discusses the ecological salvation of the novel of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.This chapter analyzes the salvation efforts made by Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period based on the multi-presences and source recognition of ecological crisis.The writers regard the nature restoring and the poetic writing of creatures as the effective strategy for realistic level salvation –“restoring nature divinity”considering the eco logical damage by the disenchantment of the modernization.In terms of cultural salvation, writers try to achieve the continuity of tradition and co-existence of multi-culture through the return of ancient myth, the activation of religious and cultural tradition and the building of national image.Facing the serious imbalance in human spirit, the writers express their constant endeavor of human spirit salvation and tireless pursuit of poetic living spiritual garden through the creation of ideal Utopian with“the romantic return”and“the poetic dwelling”.
Chapter four discusses the difficulties and solutions of ecological writing of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.The ecological writing development has maze on aesthetic aspect, which needs particular rectification and to pursue the balance through various contradictions and tensions among ecological discourse and aesthetic orientation, technological rationality and national culture as well as realistic crisis and ideal salvation to achieve breakthrough and to turn to rational creation with more inspirational significance.
The conclusion summarizes the unique characteristics and value significance of ecological writing of Inner Mongolian minority writers in the new period.The ecological writing is a consciously writing from“blood memory”, penetrating with a strong sense of crisis and fierce life awareness.The civilization and development pain as well as the ideal pursuit for poetic living referred to the works are the consideration of living difficulties of modern nomadic nations affected by ecology.The ecological speech of these topics reflects the universal concern towards human by writers exceeding the limitation of nation and mainland.
