It was just a cicada's carapace.

I was dumbfounded.

Despite the pain I calmed myself and reflected:

自己竟然荒唐地向一個(gè)毫無(wú)生命的空殼搏擊，

How absurd I had been, to strike at a lifeless shell.

它根本不會(huì)傷害我，

There was no way it could have hurt me;

一切都是自己在傷害自己，

I had brought it all on myself.

我們常常是自己給自己樹(shù)敵。

We often make enemies for ourselves.

我拖著傷痕累累的身體

Dragging my scarred body

更加緩慢地前行，

I went onward even more slowly.

心中昂揚(yáng)的斗志也沒(méi)了蹤影。
