China-PICs Relations: Achievements, Opportunities and Challenges

Abstract: In recent years, China-PICs（Pacific Island Countries）relations have achieved a lot due to the stable diplomatic environment. In the background of the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, China and the PICs have been deepening their cooperation and expanding their common interests. Although the current China's peripheral diplomacy in Pacific Island region still faces many challenges, the stable political relations will continue to be the cornerstone of China's diplomacy with neighboring countries in the region, and the strategic connection between the two sides will further create more opportunities for their development and cooperation, so as to promote the relations between China and the PICs to maintain a good momentum of development.
