The former Italian Consulate in Harbin, located at No. 63 Hongjun Street in Nangang District, was established in the early 1920s and initially managed the affairs of Romanian expatriates in Harbin. The building was designed and constructed by Italian engineering designer Pietro Gibello-Socco, featuring the style of Italian castle architecture. Its planar structure is full of twists and turns, rich in variation, resembling the Italian coastline with hints of both Art Nouveau style and a strong romantic fl air. The three-story building looks like an Italian castle, creating an impression of splendor rather than heaviness.Standing here, one feels as if he/she walks on the streets of Italy, with a strong exotic charm.
