FOREWORD 前言

This book summarizes several latest works about lattice structure topology optimization incorporated with AM constraints, aiming to find a balance between result optimality and computational efficiency, while simultaneously dealing with the heterogeneity connectivity and manufacturability for AM.

The following novelty can be found from the introduced methods:

● The parametric lattice candidates have been expanded by developing three composing lattices with extreme anisotropic properties.

● Realize multiscale topology optimization for solid-lattice-void hybrid structures through an ordered multi-phase interpolation.

● Introduce a clustering-based multiscale topology optimization method, including the multi-variable lattice optimization and inverse homogenization freeform optimization as two consecutive stages, ensuring excellent inter-connectivity among the heterogeneous lattice units while realizing better stiffness than existing connectivity-concerned methods.

● For ceramic vat photopolymerization 3D printing, propose a dedicated topology optimization method for lattice-solid hybrid structures, wherein the water jet flushing accessibility is ensured through a series of novel filtering and projection operations that enables fully removal of the residual ceramic slurry.

● For continuous fiber-reinforced composite 3D printing, propose a path-driven shell lattice design method to satisfy the path continuity requirement for manufacturability, while achieve the close-to-zero mean curvatures and tunable mechanical properties.

● Finally, the strength design aspect is addressed for topology optimization with heterogeneous lattice types.
