This book summarizes several latest works about lattice structure topology optimization incorporated with additive manufacturing constraints, aiming to find a balance between result optimality and computational efficiency, while simultaneously dealing with the heterogeneity connectivity and manufacturability for additive manufacturing. The first chapter introduces the fundamentals of topology optimization and its latest development trend. Then, Chapter 2 and 3 present the parametric lattice structure optimization methods incorporating both solid and void phases. Chapter 4 extends the method through clustering to support freeform multiscale topology optimization that ensures inter-connectivity. Then, in Chapter 5 and 6, the critical issues of 3D printing the organic structures through ceramic vat photopolymerization and continuous fiber composite material extrusion are addressed by adding constraints. The strength design issues related to lattice structures are resolved in Chapter 7. The above contents reflect the frontiers of lattice structure topology optimization, and MATLAB codes are attached at the end of the chapters. This book would be beneficial for junior researchers doing research about design and manufacture, and it can also be used as a textbook for undergraduate and graduate-level courses covering the topics of structural optimization, finite element analysis, and MATLAB coding, etc.
