Preface

Traditional Chinese medicine （TCM），originated in ancient China，is dedicated to the study of human life，health and disease.It is a great creation of the Chinese nation and an important part of traditional Chinese culture.TCM nursing，as an essential branch of TCM，plays a unique role in the prevention，treatment and rehabilitation of diseases through its specialized methods and techniques.The compilation of the textbook，TCM Nursing ： Chinese-English Edition，aims to inherit and develop the characteristics and advantages of TCM nursing，to cultivate international nursing talents with according knowledge structure and skills，hence better serving the needs of human health，inheriting and developing TCM culture，promoting the internationalization of TCM nursing education，and facilitating the academic development of integrated Chinese and Western medicine nursing.

This textbook appeals to the new tasks and requirements of the internationalization of higher nursing education teaching，and follows the compilation rules of “bilingual” textbooks with highlighted key points，standardized style and innovative form.It attaches importance to the combination of inheritance and innovation，the connection between basics and clinics，and the unity of theory and practice.The contents of this textbook include introduction，basic theories of traditional Chinese medicine，basic knowledge of meridians and acupoints，basic knowledge of prescription medicine，traditional Chinese medicine health preservation，basic knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine nursing，common traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques，syndrome differentiation and nursing applications.It is applicable to undergraduate nursing majors （bilingual） in mainland China and international students； undergraduate nursing students in universities in Hong Kong，Macau and Taiwan； and in-service nurses with bilingual foundations in medical institutions at all levels.
