珠海因位于珠江注入南海之處而得名，地處珠江三角洲西南部，東鄰香港，南接澳門，山海相擁、陸島相望，是中國最早的四個經濟特區之一，港珠澳大橋通車后成為唯一與港澳陸路相連的灣區城市。

Zhuhai literally means "pearl sea", which originates from the city's location where the Pearl River meets the South China Sea. Lying in the southwestern part of the Pearl River Delta, it borders Hong Kong to the east and Macao to the south. The city is surrounded by mountains and seawater, with the sight of abundant islands. It is one of the frst four Special Economic Zones in China. After the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge opened to trafc, Zhuhai has become the only city that links Hong Kong and Macao by road and bridge.
