Chapter One　CPC – Born to Salvage China from Subjugation

It is clear that to understand the relationship between the CPC and traditional Chinese culture, we must bear in mind that Chinese Communists are one organic part of the great Chinese nation. We say so because the CPC is a Marxist Party born in the process of salvaging China from subjugation, hugely different from other Marxist parties. This difference is manifested in the nature of the CPC both as the vanguard of the Chinese working class and of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation. This is what the Chinese people often say – the CPC is not “one vanguard” but “two vanguards”.
