Prof. Tian Gengjia of the Center for Treatment of Chronic Wounds in the Hangzhou Geriatric Hospital is practicing the comprehensive treatment of pressure ulcers. I have known Prof. Tian Gengjia for many years since I met him in the West Lake of Hangzhou. I heard about his academic reputation and his contributions for wound healing many years ago, but I was also impressed by his persistent and scientific attitude when I had the chances to listen his wonderful presentations about New Progress on Pressure Ulcer Treatment, especially by his concept of minimally invasive treatment through an advanced method of pressure ulcers healing which is highly recommended when encountering this complicated, life threatening condition. Prof. Tian Gengjia provides simple solutions for this complex problem and makes the treatment of pressure ulcers more standardized. Prof. Tian Gengjia challenges the growing problems of old age, upsurge in chronic diseases and the increase in life expectancy in the modern developing world with the increasing prevalence of pressure ulcers.
