Foreword

This Code is developed by Sinopec Engineering Incorporation in cooperation with other involved organizations based on the requirements of Document（JIANBIAO〔2010〕No.43）issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People s Republic of China-the Plan for Developing and Revising National Engineering Construction Standards in 2010.During the process of preparation，the standard team requested and solicited comments from involved organizations，summarized the experiences from engineering practices，made reference to the scientific research achievements in China and abroad.Through a multi-round discussion，revision and substantiation as well，the final version has been completed and reviewed by an expert panel.

This Code comprises 8 chapters and 3 appendixes with the main technical contents as follows:general provisions，terms and symbols，classification of loads and representative values of loads，permanent loads，variable loads，loads on buildings，loads on special structures and load combinations.

This Code mainly specifies the following contents:

1.Criteria used for classifying various loads applied on the buildings（special structures）and determining their values in petrochemical production，storage and handling facilities；

2.Methods used for calculating the wind loads on the special structures in petrochemical industry；

3.Criteria used for determining the partial factors of various loads；

4.Methods of load effects combination for each case.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory and must be enforced strictly.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People s Republic of China is in charge of administration of this Code and explanation of its compulsory provisions，China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec Group）is responsible for its routine management，and Sinopec Engineering Incorporation is tasked for explanation of specific technical contents.All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up and accumulate experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this Code.The relevant opinions and advice，whenever necessary，can be posted or passed on to the Management Team for the Load Code for Design of Buildings and Special Structures in Petrochemical Industry in Sinopec Engineering Incorporation（Address:Bldg.21 Anyuan，Anhui Bei Li，Chaoyang District，Beijing，post code:100101）.
