AWS account shared access
If you are an organization or an enterprise, you would have one or more AWS accounts, and you will have a requirement to allow other people access your AWS account(s). IAM allows you to do that with the help of user accounts without you sharing your credentials with other people. If you are an individual and you want other people to access your AWS account, you can do that as well by creating separate user accounts for them in your AWS account.
