IAM is secure by default. When you create a new user in IAM, by default this user has no permission assigned for any AWS resource. You have to explicitly grant permissions to users for AWS resources and assign them unique credentials. You don't have a need for sharing credentials as you can create separate identities (user accounts) and multiple types of credentials for all use cases.
