Tableau Server/Online

If you have access to Tableau Server or Tableau Online, you can directly connect to a published Data Source. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click on Tableau Server on the Connect pane.
2. Enter the URL of your server or click on Tableau Online:

3. Enter your username and password:

4. Click on the Data Source you want to use.

Actually, with a Tableau Server connection, you don't have anything to do. The connection to the dataset has already been made by someone else. Let's now see how to create a new connection to a database.
