Technical requirements

SQL Server 2017 is required to use all the scripts and projects in this chapter. If the SQL Server is the Express Edition only, then SSIS attempts will not be published into the Integration Services Catalog. SQL Server Data Tools should also be installed if you want to follow the SSIS example.

For all SQL scripts provided within this chapter, Management Studio Version 17.5 or higher is recommended.

All scripts and other files are provided here: https://github.com/PacktPublishing/Hands-On-Data-Science-with-SQL-Server-2017/tree/master/CH5_Data_Transforming_and_Cleaning_with_T_SQL. Scripts are ordered accordingly and are reported throughout the chapter.

In the CSV subfolder are files that contain sample customers and products used for samples.

The CH05_11_complete_SSIS_solution_BookProjectSSIS.zip file contains a working demo of the SSIS solution described in the SQL Server integration services section. Unzip this file locally if you want to play with it yourself. When you try to execute the package, please ensure that you review the server names and file paths first.
