What Does Our Site Want?

Before we install anything, we need to overview what is needed for our site. We've spent long hours banging at a module, trying to make it fit into the unique design required for a particular application. Some planning and a basic understanding of the tools available will go a long way towards coming up with a perfect solution.

For the purposes of this chapter, we will explore three basic needs: an image gallery, teaser thumbnails, and images embedded in content. Many image requirements can be generalized into these categories, and after reading this chapter you should be ready to create a basic framework for most solutions.
