Chapter 2. Matching Pictures and Text

Matching pictures and text are part of the reading comprehension skill that our students develop by reading different types of texts—for instance, articles, poems, song lyrics, dialogues, and comic strips, among others. Whenever the reader is trying to picture the effect of the text in his or her mind's eye, it might be quite different from what another reader might imagine. This is understandable because a reader's imagination may change according to several factors such as interpretation of the text, their point of view, and so on. The reason we ask students to incorporate pictures, paragraphs, and flowcharts using Web 2.0 while working with comprehension is to brighten their ideas with regard to writing and composing. Finally, after matching images and text, we can work the other way round by inserting images into beautifully written pieces of text.
