Sametime includes icons that provide information about a user's "status". Sametime status icons let you know when your contacts are available to chat, when they are in a meeting, or when they may be away from their desk. The icons help you determine whether a person is logged into Sametime and available for interaction. In many ways they are like the busy signal or call forwarding on your phone. These icons also display in the Notes client inbox next to the person's name, as well as in other Lotus applications like Quickr and iNotes.
Status icon display Icon image What the icon means
"I am available" 
The "green light" indicates the person is online and available for chat.
"I am away" 
The "yellow light" indicates the person is online but is not available for chat. If you chat with a person with this status, the chat conversation will display in their chat window.
"I'm in a meeting" 
The meeting indicator shows that the person is online but is in a meeting. If the user is in a Sametime meeting, other attendees will see the person as online.
"Do not disturb" 
The "red light" indicates that the person is logged into Sametime, but does not want to be contacted. Your privacy settings can also be set so that your status shows "Do not disturb" to some individuals.
No icon displayed Indicates that the person is not logged into Sametime and thus unavailable to chat.
