Drupal modules

All of the features we are going to look at in this chapter are provided via modules, which we need to enable. Let's enable all of these modules now to save us some time later, so we don't need to come back and forth to this section.

Modules are managed from the Modules tab on the administration bar. This page lists all modules which are installed, regardless of whether they are enabled or disabled.

We need to enable the following modules from the Core group of modules (for our default installation, this is the only group we have), some of which are illustrated in the following screenshot:

Ensure the following modules are ticked, so that they will install:

Once ticked, we click Save configuration at the bottom of the page.

Once the modules have been enabled, we are shown a confirmation message at the top of the page to confirm that those modules have been enabled:

Now, we can configure and use these newly-enabled modules.

As a result of these newly-enabled modules, we now have a range of content types available to us when creating new content for our site:
