4.2　Steel Materials

Ⅰ　Dominant Items

4.2.1　The type，specification and performance of steel materials shall be in conformity with the related current national standards of such products and the design requirements.The quality of imported steel materials shall be in conformity with the design requirements and the requirements specified in the related contract.

Quantity for inspection:one hundred percent；

Inspection method:inspect the quality certificate and other such documentary evidences of quality，Chinese identification marks，test report and others.

4.2.2　For any of the following steel materials，samples shall be taken for retest；and the retest result shall be in conformity with the related current national standards of products and the design requirements.

1　Steel materials imported from foreign countries；

2　Steel materials composed of different lots；

3　Thick steel plates（thickness:≥40mm）that shall be able to meet a specific Z-direction performance requirement according to the related design；

4　Steel materials shall be retested according to the design；

5　Steel materials which quality is in doubt；

Quantity for inspection:Re-inspect randomly each lot and specification of any of the above-mentioned steel products.

Inspection method:Check the re-inspection report.

Ⅱ　General Items

4.2.3　The thickness of steel plate and the related allowable variation shall be in conformity with the requirements set forth in the related standard of such products.

Quantity for inspection:inspect randomly five points for each steel plate of the different products and specifications.

Inspection method:measure thickness of steel plate with slide calipers.

4.2.4　The specifications and dimensions of section steel and the related allowable variations shall be in conformity with the requirements set forth in the related standard of such products.

Quantity for inspection:inspect randomly five points for each section steel of the different products and specifications.

Inspection method:measure thickness with steel rulers or slide calipers.

4.2.5　The appearance quality of steel materials shall be in conformity with the following requirements besides those specified in the current national standards:

1　Where any rustiness，mottling，scratch，or other defect on the surfaces of steel materials，any such defect shan't be deeper than 1/2 of the allowable variation.

2　The rustiness grade of the surface of steel material shall be lighter than c-grade stated in the current state standard of the Rust grades and preparation gradesof steel surfaces before application of paints and related products（GB 8923）.

3　There shan't be any stratification，slag inclusion and other similar defect on the edges and fracture of steel materials.

Quantity for inspection:one hundred percent；

Inspection method:inspect by eye observation.
