4.3　Flood Regulation and Selection of Characteristic Flood-Control Levels

4.3.1　In the computation of flood regulation，techno-economic comparison shall be made for the scale of dedicated discharge structures and limit water level during flood season according to the flood control standard of project and downstream flood control requirements，so as to determine the flood season limit level，the design flood level and the check flood level.

4.3.2　The flood control level shall be determined，under the principle of integrating flood control with beneficial uses，through a comprehensive analysis of the impact of different flood control levels on major beneficial goals，downstream flood control，sedimentation，reservoir inundation and project investment，etc.

4.3.3　For cascade reservoirs，the flood control standard，flood control assignment and flood regulation principle of each reservoir in the cascade shall be analyzed so that the flood control operation mode of the designed hydropower station is coordinated with that of other reservoirs in the cascade.
