1.We are but minutes—little things!

Each one furnished with sixty wings,

With which we fl y on our unseen track,

And not a minute ever comes back.

2.We are but minutes; use us well,

For how we are used we must one day tell.

Who uses minutes, has hours to use;

Who loses minutes, whole years must lose.

每一分鐘都配有六十個羽翼，

我們依此沿著看不見的軌道飛行，

一分鐘也不會逆轉。

2.我們只不過是分針而已，充分利用我們吧，

我們必須告知世人如何加以利用。

那些充分利用每分鐘的人，會有無數小時可用；

那些不珍惜分鐘的人，會失去數年時光。
