Chapter 01 耽擱延誤

?due to意為“歸功于，因為，由于”，表示原因，后跟名詞或代詞；表示“因為，由于”的意思時，等同于because of。

?after all是一個固定短語，意為“畢竟，終究”，通常放在句尾。after all還有“別忘了”的意思，此時通常放在句首。

?wonder about意為“對……感到奇怪，想知道”，后面跟名詞、動名詞或wh-從句；wonder還可以與if / whether連用。

?ought to意為“應該……”, ought to+have+done表示“對過去情況的推測，與現在事實相反”的意思。

? go off的字面含義為“離開”，還可以表示“響起，爆炸，開火”等意思。go off sb / sth則指“對……不再喜歡；失去對……的興趣”；描述食物或飲料時用have / has / had gone off，則指“食物或飲料變質、腐敗”。
