本書通過中國經濟改革30余年的歷程——從改革的起點，到市場化體制的逐步完善，再到進入深水區后的改革再出發，揭示出中國經濟改革的六大邏輯：改革具有周期性，從快速推進到陷入僵局，改革須重建共識；改革是個系統工程，經濟改革離不開其他領域的配套改革；改革、發展與穩定的三維統一，與西方主流理論更多強調效率的一維視角迥然相異；中國的改革實踐與理論邏輯相吻合，超越了漸進與激進的爭論；改革頂層設計應與摸著石頭過河相結合；中國的持續改革是在全球制度競爭與改革競爭中進行的。最后指出，中國不斷進行改革的原動力，正是為了“保有”社會主義制度的不變色。

With China's experience of reform and opening-up in the past three decades, from the beginning to the gradual improvement of market system, to reinitiating the reform when it enters “deep waters”， this book tries to uncover China's economic reform logic as the following six aspects. Firstly, the reform folows a cyclical patern. It began with the high-speed development and now is at low ebb. It is the reason that a consensus of reform to be reconstructed. Secondly, the reform is a systemic program. Economic reform is inseparable from mutualy supplementary and coordinated measures in other fields. Thirdly, the relations between reform, development and stability should be wel addressed. This three-dimensional unification is quite different from the unidimensional emphasis on efficiency in the western mainstream economics. Fourthly, the practical experience and theoretical logic of the reform are wel matched. Reform advanced in this logic in various domains actualy transcends the debates between the progressive approach and the radical approach. Fifthly, top-level designs are combined with the approach of “awding across a river by feeling for stones”. Lastly, the reform should be implemented continuously and in global institutional competition and reform competition. The author concluded that the originalm ipetus of China's continuous reform is to keep socialist institution's characteristics.
