Part Two Locomotor System

The locomotor system （運(yùn)動(dòng)系統(tǒng)） consists of bones，joints and skeletal muscles.The bones are linked together to form the skeleton by joints（Figure 2.1）.The muscles are attached to bones and exert force to produce actions.The system functions as a whole，provides movement，support and protection for the body，storage for calcium and phosphorus，and a supply of new blood cells.
