AN EPIC

The construction of railways on the“roof of the world”isan epic in the history of railway engineering.

At the beginning of 2003, I joined thousands of builders in the mission to develop Xizang. In early 2004, I was in Amdo County, working on the Amdo-Lhasa section of the Qinghai-Xizang Railway. As the track extended steadily from Amdo to Lhasa, meter by mete, my colleagues and I witnessed or participated in many significant events during the construction of this epic railway.

In October 2005, the track-laying process for the entire Qinghai-Xizang Railway was successfully concluded. Subsequently in July 2006, the railway commenced operation. In 2018, during my tenure as the commander for the Lhasa-Nyingchi section of the Sichuan-Xizang Railway, we accomplished all crucial project milestones. On July 26,2018, Premier Li Keqiang visited our worksite to assess the progress of the project....

It has been almost five years since my departure from Xizang, yet my passion for the region remains steadfast, and I am continually moved by the stories emerging from Xizang.
