4　Acceptance of Unit Project

4.1　General Requirements

4.1.1　Unit Project is classified into five major categories:civil works，installation，planting，security and protection，and fire prevention and protection.

4.1.2　Each Unit Project consists of several Part Projects.Acceptance of Unit Project shall be organized by the Owner after the Part Projects are qualified through acceptance.

4.1.3　Part Project consists of several Item Projects.Acceptance of Part Projects shall be organized by the chief supervisory engineer after the Item Projects are qualified through acceptance.

4.1.4　Acceptance of Item Projects shall be organized by the supervising engineer after Contractor has qualified itself through check and evaluation.

4.1.5　Acceptance of Unit Project shall meet the following requirements:

1　Quality control documentation is complete.

2　The check data on safety and functionality of Part Projects of a Unit Project are complete.

3　Spot check results of major functions shall comply with appropriate technical requirements.

4　Appearance quality meets the acceptance requirements.

4.1.6　Composition and main responsibilities of Unit Project acceptance team:

1　The Unit Project acceptance team is established by the Owner and composed of chiefs from interested parties including the Owner，the designing organization，the supervisor，the Contractor（s），and the commissioning organization，and specialized technical personnel.

2　The Unit Project acceptance team shall:

1）Command and coordinate inspections and acceptance of Part Projects，Item Projects，all stages of construction and installation in all specialties.

2）Duly organize organizations concerned and specialized personnel to form acceptance teams for Part Projects and Item Projects according to the work progress.

3）Listen to the oral report presented by Contractors on project construction and quality evaluation.

4）Put forward proposals for defects found during inspections and oversee concerned organizations to correct the defects within a given time limit.

5）Provide overall assessment of Unit Project，and sign"Letter of Acceptance of Unit Project"Refer to Appendix C.

4.1.7　Upon completion of Unit Project，the Contractor shall duly apply to the Owner for acceptance.The Unit Project acceptance team shall duly establish specialized acceptance teams to perform acceptance.

4.1.8　Acceptance of Unit Project shall:

1　Check whether the Unit Project complies with the approved design drawings，design change notice（s）and technical requirements for construction.

2　Check construction records and material certificates and inspection reports.

3　Check inspection records and reports from the supervisor of major processes and concealed works.

4　Check the appearance and overall quality of the Unit Project against the acceptance requirements.

5　Provide solutions to problems found during the inspection.

6　Quality evaluation of the Unit Project.

7　Sign"Letter of Acceptance of Unit Project".

4.1.9　Acceptance of Part Projects shall meet the following requirement:

1　Documents relating to quality control are complete.

2　Inspection results and samples of the safety and functions of the Item Projects under the Part Projects shall meet related requirements.

3　Appearance quality meets requirements.
