Section 1 A Brief History of Yang-style Taijiquan
楊式太極拳,是太極拳的一個(gè)流派,創(chuàng)自楊露禪。
Inaugurated by Yang Luchan, the Yang style is one of the schools of Taijiquan.
楊露禪(1799—1872年),名福魁,字露禪,河北永年人。少年時(shí)代的楊露禪練習(xí)過少林拳,后到河南溫縣陳家溝,拜投在陳氏太極拳的一代宗師陳長興的門下,刻苦學(xué)習(xí)。
Yang Fukui, style name Luchan(1799–1872), was from Yongnian, Hebei Province. In his childhood, he practiced Shaolin boxing, and then studied diligently from Chen Changxing, master of Chenstyle Taijiquan, at Chen Village in Wenxian County, Henan Province.

楊露禪 Yang Luchan
清同治初年(1862年),出師后的楊露禪來到京城,在端王府教拳。他在不斷的交流和教學(xué)實(shí)踐中,對太極拳的技術(shù)進(jìn)行了革新,形成了以抽絲勁、擲放術(shù)為代表的技術(shù)特點(diǎn),以及簡單易學(xué)、實(shí)用面廣的新拳架。后經(jīng)其孫楊澄甫(1883—1936年)進(jìn)一步完善,并于1930年由其傳人執(zhí)筆出版了《太極拳體用全書》,規(guī)范成楊式太極拳教學(xué)的范本。楊澄甫早期在北京教拳,后在南京、上海、廣州等地教學(xué),對楊式太極拳的發(fā)展做出了重要貢獻(xiàn)。
Having completed his apprenticeship at Chen Village in 1862, Yang Luchan went to the capital, Beijing, to teach boxing at Prince Duan’s Mansion. He innovated and developed the techniques of Taiijiquan through continuous exchange and teaching, which resulted in his invention of a new boxing frame which featured spinning strength, throwing energy, easy practice and wide application. His grandson, Yang Chengfu(1883–1936), further revised the techniques, with his heir later in 1930 writing and publishing A Complete Handbook for Practicing Taijiquan, in which the teaching models of Yang-style Taijiquan were standardized. Yang Chengfu first taught boxing in Beijing and later in Nanjing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, playing a critical role in disseminating Yang-style Taijiquan.

楊澄甫 Yang Chengfu
中華人民共和國成立后,太極拳的健身作用受到了黨和國家的高度重視。原國家體委以楊式太極拳為藍(lán)本,先后創(chuàng)編了24式簡化太極拳、48式太極拳,修訂了88式太極拳。20世紀(jì)80年代,原國家體委組織創(chuàng)編了“楊式太極拳競賽套路”,有力地推動(dòng)了楊式太極拳的進(jìn)一步發(fā)展。
Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the Communist Party and the State have placed a high premium on the physical fitness aspects of Taijiquan. The former National Sports Commission took Yang-style Taijiquan as a model to create a simplified 24-step Taijiquan, a 48-step Taijiquan, and a revised 88-step Taijiquan. In the 1980s, the same Commission compiled the competition sets for Yang-style Taijiquan for further promotion.
