Summary

In this chapter, we focused our discussion around Maven Project Object Model (POM) and how to adhere to industry-wide accepted best practices to avoid maintenance nightmares. The key elements of a POM file, POM hierarchy and inheritance, managing dependencies, and related topics were covered here. In the next chapter, we will have a look at different options available to configure Maven.
