This book is dedicated to my mother, Nobuko, and my grandmother, Fukiko. I can only aspire to be half as positive, inspiring, and joyful as you both are. To my mother especially: thank you for encouraging me to be the best that I can be and for showing me how to laugh at myself.

I'd also like to thank my husband, resident comedian, cat singer, and rock-solid support system, Mark, for sticking by me through all of life's storms and sunshine. You mean more to me than I can say in these little words on paper.
