In this chapter, we will describe how Bootstrap, Font Awesome, and FlexSlider are used in OpenCart 2 themes. Bootstrap is used for responsiveness and scaffolding, Font Awesome is used to generate icons with CSS, and FlexSlider is used for a carousel and slider. These frameworks are used for rapid development of themes; introducing these frameworks helps you understand how default OpenCart themes are made and used to extend their functionality.
