Nyall Dawson is a core developer of QGIS, responsible for thousands of contributions spanning the print composer, symbology, and labeling improvements. He has a master's degree in geospatial information, and is passionate about quality cartography and effective visual presentation of information.

He runs a freelance development consultancy, which focuses on targeted development of QGIS's features. He posts regular updates about his QGIS development work on his blog, which you can find at http://nyalldawson.net.

Werner Macho is an open source software developer working on the QGIS project. After graduating from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria, he worked some time there as a scientist. Due to his work on QGIS, he got an opportunity to work for Kartoza in South Africa, but then he went back to his roots and is currently working in the area of water management in Austria. Werner has been working on QGIS since 2007, when he searched for an open source GIS tool to aid his work in floodwater protection plans.

Still, his private computer remains a restricted zone for proprietary software, as he strongly believes in the power of open source and the GPL.
