Data Loss Prevention strategies

In general, the compromise of data in any of the preceding three states is called Data Loss and the strategies to prevent such a loss are called Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

Controls for Data Loss Prevention include the following:

• Data classification
• CIA requirements
• Risk assessment
• Devising suitable controls
• Implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of controls
