ODL is based on an MD-SAL that allows modeling of data, RPCs, notifications, and queries. Because of this model, everything that is modeled gets exposed automatically over northbound APIs.

Messaging4Transport adds ActiveMQ (AMQP-based) to be used in the case of northbound communications in addition to the current RESTCONF NB bindings. It adds AMQP bindings to the MD-SAL, which would automatically make all MD-SAL APIs available via the mechanism.
