How to do it...

To change the load balancing policy and select the right one for your environment, and to also select the appropriate failover policy, follow these steps:

1. Open up VMware vSphere Web Client.
2. Log in to your vCenter Server.
3. On the left-hand side, choose any ESXi Server and choose Configuration from the right-hand pane.
4. Click on the Networking section and select the vSwitch for which you want to change the load balancing and failover settings.

1. Click on Properties.
2. Select the vSwitch and click on Edit.
3. Go to the Teaming and failover tab.
4. Select one of the available policies from the Load balancing drop-down menu.
5. Select one of the available policies from the Network failure detection drop-down menu.

1. Click on OK to make it effective.
