Supported number of clients

When talking about supported clients, we can outline three different types:

• Client type 1: Windows Server, Windows Clients, and Windows Embedded, Linux, and Unix
• Client type 2: Devices managed by Windows Intune and those enabled for Exchange Server connector
• Client type 3: Devices enrolled by ConfigMgr and devices supported by the mobile device legacy client, macOS clients
• Central administration site:
  • Up to 700,000 type 1 clients
  • Up to 25,000 type 3 clients
  • Up to 100,000 devices that you manage using on-premises MDM or up to 300,000 cloud-based devices
• Standalone primary site: The overall number of devices managed by standalone primary site is 175,000, where subdivisions are:
  • Up to 150,000 type 1 clients
  • Up to 50,000 type 2 clients
  • Up to 25,000 type 3 clients
  • 50,000 devices that you manage using on-premises MDM or up to 150,000 cloud-based devices
• Secondary site: Up to 15,000 type 1 clients
• Management point: The overall number of devices managed by the management point is 25,000, where subdivisions are:
  • 25,000 type 1 clients
  • Up to 10,000 devices that are managed using on-premises MDM or up to 10,000 type 3 clients
