What if it didn't work?
What if this didn't work? The first thing that you can do is to check over your syntax and see if you got something wrong. Step backward through your process to see where you might have made a mistake. You can look over the code that I have provided, both in the book and the external resources, but you shouldn't limit yourself to that. As a programmer, the internet is your best friend. If there is an error message, you can search for the error message and see if any forum threads come up. Chances are that somebody had the same problem you did. You can also see the notes at the end of this chapter about using documentation and online forums.
Debugging programs gets easier as you become more experienced, but making mistakes (and consequently receiving errors) is always a big part of programming no matter how experienced. It is very important to be comfortable investigating problems that come up, especially while starting out.
