The need for penetration testing
In the early days of the development of computers, the term hacker was given to a person who had extraordinary skills in using a computer system. Organizations realized their assets are at risk and need to be protected from any malicious actor, whether internal or external. Organizations seek to understand and discover the vulnerabilities in their systems, such as computers, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, end devices, and employees. Companies soon saw the need to hire cybersecurity experts to assist in improving the security posture of their organization. The role of the penetration tester was created in the world of cybersecurity.
