Elastic Load Balancer
The Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) or Classic LB distributes incoming application or network traffic across multiple targets. Historically, this was done for web servers, but as cloud computing has become more ubiquitous, other services were supported.
The ELB supports all transport layer protocols. It must be used for non-browser-based services.
