Beyond the standard DNS services, AWS lets you add sophisticated load balancing features to your services. You can configure DNS to take advantage of distributed instances. Route 53 can also be used to distribute requests based on how close your customers are to a service. Finally, Route 53 can identify network bottlenecks and send your traffic along speedier routes.
