Chapter 4. Creating a Project Plan using the SAP Accelerated Implementation Plan
This chapter will explain all of the tasks required to design a solid SAP Business ONE project plan. I will first explain some project management basics, and then quickly help you in a hands-on, step-by-step process to design your own plan.
The following topics will be covered in this chapter:
- Introduction to project managment: Your project's goal, budget, required personnel, as well as time and task groups organized in milestones - I will provide a quick introduction to project management so you have the right tools to understand how an SAP implementation can be managed.
- Introducing the SAP ASAP methodology – Here, I will explain how SAP recommends organizing and managing an efficient SAP project.
- Preparing an SAP Accelerated Implementation Plan – This is the ultimate toolset for you to manage your SAP Business ONE project. At the end of this section, you will have your own project plan.
Overall, the goal of this chapter is to create a plan in a template format so that it can be used as a starting point for every SAP Business ONE project out there. Before we start diving into the SAP Accelerated Implementation Plan, let me provide some background information about project management.
