How to auto-generate content IDs

Many times, it's a lot easier and more convenient to have Content Server generate Content IDs for you. They must be globally unique and you may not want to bother your users with extra error messages.

I hope you remember how to enable auto-generation; check the Automatically assign a content ID on check in box on the General Configuration page in Admin Server. We covered it earlier in this chapter.
