After completing this chapter, you should know how to create a simplistic WordPress plugin and you should know where you have to put the file in order for it to show up in the WordPress Dashboard. You should have learned a couple debugging techniques that will apply to your work as a plugin developer. We've learned the differences between filters and actions and seen how WordPress sends data to your functions in each case. You should now have a working understanding of the most common plugin patterns and you should now be ready to write a couple of your own.
