Foreword

According to the requirements of Document Jian Biao〔2010〕No.43 issued by Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development-“Notice on Printing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standard in 2010”，this code is developed by China Second Metallurgy Group Co.，Ltd in cooperation with relevant units.

During the process of drafting this code，the drafting group carried out investigation and study widely and deeply，summarized domestic construction experiences of slurry pipeline engineering carefully in recent several more years，and referenced to applicable international codes and standards of slurry pipeline，meanwhile on the basis of balancing the different opinions extensively by whom concerned，the code was finalized after repeated discussion，modification and improvement.

This code comprises 15 chapters and 6 appendixes with the main contents as follows:general provisions，terms，basic requirement，surveying & Right-of-Way clearance，acceptance of materials and fittings，stringing，trenching，welding & acceptance，lowering-in & backfilling，field applied coating，crossings，internal pipeline cleaning & gauging & hydrotesting，ancillary works of pipeline，safety and environment，as-build and acceptance of engineering.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory ones and must be enforced strictly.

Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development is in charge of the administration of this code and the explanation of the compulsory provisions，China Association of Metallurgical Construction is in charge of routine managements，and China Second Metallurgy Group Co.，Ltd is responsible for the explanation the specific technical contents.All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up and accumulate your experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this code.The relevant opinions and advice，whenever necessary，can be posted or passed on to China Second Metallurgy Group Co.，Ltd（Address:No.83，yellow river avenue，rare-earth development district，Baotou，Inner Mongolia，zip code:014030）as references for revising the code hereafter.
