Foreword

According to the requirements of Document issued by The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development-"Notice on Pringting and Distributing'the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards in 2013'"（JIANBIAO［2013］No.6），the Code for Design of Sintering Plant is revised by Zhongye Changtian International Engineering Co.，Ltd（CIE）.and other related organizations jointly based on the original"Code for Design of Sintering Plant"（GB 50408-2007）.

During the work of revision of this code，the preparing group had made wide investigations and researches and summarized practical experience as well as referred to relative international standards and other foreign standards.Based on the extensive comments，the code was reviewed and finalized.

The code consists of 12 chapters with the main technical contents as follows:General provisions，Terms，Basic requirements，Raw materials，fluxes，fuels and their preparation，Sintering process，Sintering equipment，Energy saving and environmental protection，Electrical engineering and automation，Auxiliary facilities，Product sinter quality，metering，inspection，assaying and testing，Equipment maintenance，Safety，industrial health and fire-fighting etc..

The main revisions are as follows:1）Terms for waste heat recovery and flue gas recirculation sintering process etc.are added.2）Stipulations for design of sintering plant in plateau area are added.3）Great changes are made for stipulation of sintering process and equipment，and the sintering process and equipment will be specified separately.4）The stipulations for environmental protection are modified，supplementations are made for the chapter of energy and energy saving，and combined stipulations are given for energy saving and environmental protection.5）Such contents of auxiliary facilities as general layout and transportation，dust collection，ventilation，air conditioning，heating，water supply and water sewerage，compressed air and other gas supply，architecture and structure etc.are added.6）Supplementations are made for the contents of metering and measurement.

The provisionsprinted in bold type are mandatory ones and must be implemented strictly.

This code is under the jurisdiction of，and its mandatory provision are interpreted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development，CIE is in charge of the explanation of techenical specifications.All relevant organizations are kindly invited to summarize and accumulate actual experiences when implementing this code.Relevant comments and recommendations，whenever necessary，should be submitted to Technology and quality department of CIE（Address:No.1152 Meixihu Road，Changsha，Hunan，P.R of China，Zipcode:410205）.
