When won the war of resistance against Japan, people had a ceremony
All were joyful, I, the people and the army
Went to the northeast provinces we were with the armed forces
I had made no contributions to the party
We went through the prairie in Inner Mongolia
Then hurried to Harbing and Shenyang
PLA won one victory after another
I joined the Northeast Field Army for propaganda
Before Shan haiguan, the Northeast Field Army was renamed the Fourth Field Army
To make everything ready to enter Beiping for the Grand Founding Ceremony

We were standing in Tian anmen on October 1st

So long, I still do not know why
The honor I got made me delight
I have not been back to Yan'an for 30 years. The water of Yanhe River, the Baota Mountain, my former residence in Qiao'ergou, the nice jujube garden, the author's club in Lanjiaping, the central great auditorium of Yangjialing, especially the First Nursing Home of Yan'an, they nourished and nurtured the childhood of Xiao Ming. Although my root is in Liaoning, in northeast China, but my birth pace written in my passport is the four characters of“Shaanxi Yan'an”. How many times have I recalled Yan'an, How many times I want to go back to Yan'an. Until today I am still thinking to go back to Yan'an in my lifetime.
