Loving Reading
Pat:Hi, Linda. Where are you going?
Linda:Library.
Pat:Oh, great!I just moved here. Do you mind telling me how to use the library here?
Linda:Of course. You can use your ID card to apply for a library card. Then you can check out books, popular magazines or newspapers.
Pat:How many books am I allowed to check out at a time?
Linda:No more than four books. But you can read magazines and newspapers within the library.
Pat:How long can I keep the books?
Linda:For 2 weeks. And you can come in and get a one-week extension after that. But if they are late, the fee is 35 cents per book per day.So return them on time.
Pat:I see. I'll make sure to return them back on time.Do you always go to library?
Linda:Not too much. I'd like to read newspapers.I have subscribed some newspapers, as Newspaper Week, popular paper and evening paper.
Pat:That's too much. There are too many articles on it.Those always confuse me.
Linda:My approach is to skim the pages first to see what's important and what isn't. And then choose the hot news and big news to read.
