Passage 1 My father's hair

Danny is three years old.His father is Ben.He is not old,but he doesn't have much hair.Danny's mother is Mary,her hair is thick.

Danny looks at his father,and asks Mary,"Why does my father have little hair?"

Mary laughs and says,"Because he is clever."

Danny looks at Mary's hair and says,"You have so much hair.You are foolish!"

hair是不可數名詞。不可數名詞是指不可以用數字一個一個數出來的名詞。例如：

亞洲人大多都是黑色的頭發，這是因為亞洲人的頭發里含有較多銅和鐵；許多歐洲人的頭發是金黃色的，這是因為她們的頭發中有較多的鈦；生活在美洲的土著印第安人的頭發是紅褐色的。黑人的頭發也是黑色的，只不過他們中大部分人的頭發天生是比較卷曲，這點與中國人不一樣。
